Usurpers is an animated metal music video by the band Livløs. I don’t know much about the metal scene, but had to say yes after hearing the tune, because there is so much energy and power in the music, and after talking to the band I felt like it was a great match.

I ended up spending way too much time on the animation, but am really proud of the end result. The story is a part of their whole album storyline, and was extremely dark. I got the outline from the band and filled in details and designed the look and feel inspired by the music and comic book references with lots of black.
